THE COMPANY

Climbing Queenstown was originally established under the name ‘Via Ferrata’ in 2003. The company was initially started by a team of outdoor professionals who built the Via Ferrata over approximately a year. Their desire was to provide an activity that would allow anyone of moderate fitness to experience the excitement, exposure and scenic beauty of climbing, normally only enjoyed by people with professional climbing skills.

That Via Ferrata facility now has over 1,000 rungs and 500m of cable spread across our cliffs, with up to 400m height gain from the valley floor.

Today, operating under the Climbing Queenstown Company, we now offer a broader range of climbing experiences including; rock climbing, abseiling, mountaineering, site safety for film and photo, alpine trekking, training and team building.
